David Rubinstein's compositions and transcriptions have been performed by soloists and ensembles worldwide, including pianists Blair McMillen, Thorsten Kuhn, and ensembles such as the Hartford Symphony, Calico Winds, and North Wind Quintet. His Toccata for piano received First Prize at the Fisher Piano Competition and was performed at the Pacific Composers Forum and Pacific Contemporary Music Center. Other awards include the Diana Barnhart American Song Composers Competition and the Ojai Festival Guild Foundation Award (Timepieces for Salvador Dali).
